Tips for Saving on Tickets

Student Discounts

Most attractions offer 50% off for full-time students with a valid ISIC card or Chinese student ID. Always carry your student card.

Senior Discounts

Visitors over 60 or 65 (varies by site) often receive free or discounted entry. Carry your passport as proof of age.

Where to Buy

Tickets are available at each attraction's ticket office. Some sites (Jade Dragon Snow Mountain cable cars, Lijiang shows) sell out during peak season - book 1-2 days ahead through your guesthouse or on Chinese travel platforms.

Combination Tickets

Some destinations offer combo tickets. For example, the Kunming Expo Garden + Golden Temple combo saves ~CNY 30 versus buying separately. Ask at your guesthouse about current deals.

Payment Methods

WeChat Pay and Alipay are accepted at ticket offices. Cash is always accepted. International credit cards are rarely usable for ticket purchases.

Peak Season Surcharges

Some attractions charge higher prices during national holidays (Chinese New Year, Labor Day, National Day). Budget 10-20% extra during these periods.
